Open Soul is a micro-boutique winery that carries the spirit of Oregon from the Wallowa Mountains all the way to the glass.
Founded in 2023 by Jordan Hostetter, Open Soul is the story of a kid from Joseph, Oregon who wandered a while — through hospitality, through music, even through years of White House event work — before finding his way home to wine. Jordan earned his enology degree in Walla Walla (class of 2016) and spent a decade learning the industry at some of the valley's most respected cellars before setting out on his own, guided by one simple belief: a good wine should make you feel something deeper than just aromas and taste.
This spring, Open Soul put down real roots. Jordan planted Open Soul's first estate vineyard — Desperado Vineyard — on his family's cattle ranch in Imnaha Canyon, deep in the canyons near the Snake River. Nearly 3,000 vines across two acres, and the first commercial wine grapes ever planted in Wallowa County.
A small point of pride: Open Soul's 2023 Pinot Noir and Rosé were poured at Blair House this spring during King Charles III and Queen Camilla's visit for America's 250th celebration.
This event will feature wine and live music! Jordan — winemaker and accomplished soulful vocalist — will be at the mic alongside guitarist Darrell Brann for an acoustic set of music pairings.
